Steve has long reflected on so-called “natural” wines; respecting the integrity of the fruit, without the addition of chemical inputs and elaborated with minimal intervention.
Always fascinated by wine, he constantly seeks to discover and understand how the elements of nature and humans influence this divine nectar. Since 1998, Steve has studied wine at the ITHQ in Montreal, worked in various renowned bars and restaurants, and served as a representative in a wine import agency for 10 years.
Starting in spring 2019, he gradually joined La Bauge team to imagine with our winemaker the “Les Beaux Jus” collection. Together, over the vintages, they seek to better understand the winemaking potential of northern hybrids and the few vinifera varieties already planted on the estate, aiming to let the grapes express their authenticity, purity, and brilliance. The result is wines that are free and without additives, reflecting the personality of each grape variety grown in our plots.
